Brand new computer with Windows 7, Wireless connection working, still no internet?

I just bought a new HP computer with Windows 7.
 I have successfully created a wireless connection that is working (checked with diagnostics)  however internet explorer will not allow me to access any webpages.
 Help?

You have a Comcast Home Networking Gateway, probably a Linksys or
Netgear.
Three things, First, these were setup with WEP, and we know that this
is an issue for several reasons.
Second, you want to call Comcast and exchange
this device for a stand alone cable modem.
Third, you want a router.

It is likely that the Intel 3945 just won't work at all with WEP..
depending on
your model CHN gateway, you MAY be able to change the security to WPA..
but
bottom line, you REALLY need to swap out this equipment.
