Automatically copy selected rows to tickler summary sheet
I have no idea if this is possible, but this is what my customer is requesting:
There is a workbook with about 7 worksheets.
5 of those worksheets contain potential "to do" items for various groups in the organization.
The worksheets have the same column headings but do not match on the rows, because each group has different types and number of potential tasks
One of the columns is considered a tickler trigger; if the cell is not blank, then the task in that row needs to be performed. We could just enter an X in the cell.
They are using this workbook to beta a new process and it is likely that they will discover new tasks that have to be inserted throughout the worksheets (not necessarily at the bottom)
What the customer wants is to create a summary tickler sheet. They want to have the entire row copied over from the other 5 sheets ONLY for rows that have the X in the "trigger cell." They would like no blank rows in between.
Is this possible to do in Excel? I cannot think of any functionality to do this.
Thanks for any insight you can give me!

Hi,
The existing data layout is not condusive to obtaining the desired output. It may be better to consolidate rows from all sheets into one sheet. Once this is done, it is quit easy to get only rows which have a X in a specific column.
Data can be consolidated from multiple sheets into one by writing an SQL query.
How many rows of data are present in each of the five sheets?
If you failed to fix it, another option is to call Microsoft and walk through the process with a technician. To do this, dial "1-800-936-5700". Explain the error that you received and the steps in the update process during which it was displayed. The technician will be able to walk through the steps from getting a new product key to finishing the installation.
